The ESPeRobo National Education robotics kit – middle school edition is a complete educational kit to teach the basics of the Python language through robotics, in accordance with school programs. Dedicated more specifically to the last years of middle school and the first year of high school, the elements provided in the kit will allow you to build robots inspired by automobile traffic: traffic lights and cars of several kinds. The card, sensors and actuators in this kit are programmed with the Studuino:bit software which offers a choice of a Scratch-type programming environment or a Python editor.
A Python educational course associated with the robotics kit
This kit is accompanied by two manuals, i.e. 14 hours of lessons to learn the basics of the Python language in middle school , downloadable for free or available as a paper manual.
A robotics kit suitable for schools
The ESPeRobo National Education robotics kit – middle school edition has been designed to be handled repetitively by students. In fact, with this kit, you will not need screws, since you just need to nest the elements to build robots quickly and easily! The teacher will thus be able to concentrate on the essential: teaching programming in Python.
Open access coursebooks for programming robots in Python
The ESPeRobo National Education robotics kit – middle school edition is associated with 14 hours of lessons, the manuals of which can be consulted on this page of our École Robots site . Contents of the 1st manual:
- The first part proposes programming traffic lights to assimilate the basic notions of programming and the Python language (sequence, loop and condition).
- The second part proposes to program several types of autonomous cars using an infrared photoreflector. The students will, in fact, be required to program an anti-collision, anti-fall or even circuit car.
A powerful programmable card to program in Python and an extension to go further
The kit's programmable card stands out for its power and autonomy. Equipped with an ESP32 processor, it also integrates multiple sensors: LED panel, push buttons, buzzer, light sensor, accelerometer, compass or even gyroscope. Its extension onto which the card clips allows you to program actuators (servomotors and DC motors) and additional sensors. Code your robots with the Studuino:bit software which offers two possible programming environments:
- An equivalent of Scratch 3.0 customized for programming the kit's sensors and actuators.
- A Python editor.
